HOW I’M PLANNING TO GROW MY HAIR

Well folks, my years of going from blonde, to ombré, to brunette, to pink, back to blonde, etc. have finally caught up with me. I’ve been noticing that my hair just isn’t as healthy as it once was (or as it could be) so it’s time to insert a serious hair regime and get my hair health back on track. Don’t get me wrong I love the short platinum hair, but there’s something about long luscious healthy hair that I am super envious of! So I’ve put a plan in place to help get my locks looking their best and grow long and luscious. These are all tips I’ve either acquired recently or what has worked for me in the past so I wanted to share them with you in case you too are in the same boat of wanting your hair to grow!

Let’s start with the basics – shampoo and conditioner. Kérastase Chronologiste was recommended to me by my hair dresser so I’ve been using it for a few months now and love how it makes my hair feel – it helps to re-build my hair and protect my colour at the same time. I have also used Pureology’s Hydrate line which I also love – super hydrating. These shampoos and conditioners are a little more on the expensive side but it is definitely worth it. I’ve used some cheapo shampoos and conditioners before and they leave my hair feeling like straw and my colour faded, – invest in good protective products and avoid extra salon visits.

My second plan of action is to help reinforce my hair with some serious protection by using Kérastase Ciment Thermique. I’ve been using this product since high school and it’s still my go-to for all around hair protection. I use it after towel drying my hair to help repair split ends, and protect from heat. It also helps to make my hair appear healthier and shinier. Even though this product helps against heat, I’m still going to keep my blow-drying to an absolute minimum. Nothing makes my hair feel softer than letting it air dry.

If you’ve never used olaplex, you are not living. This stuff is amazing for rejuvenating and revitalizing your hair. I use it as an overnight mask for a deep conditioning treatment and plan to continue to do so once a week to help strengthen and soften my hair. I also use it the night before a big shoot or event to help make my hair softer and more manageable for the next day. You can also use it as a quick ten minute treatment before you shower. I have also used Sephora’s Hair Sleeping masks which I would 1000% recommend – they are definitely more budget friendly if you’re looking or a one time quick fix. Apparently the coconut is the best but I have yet to be able to try it – I’ve used both the rose and acai and they are both amazing.

This product I’ve tried to find online with not much luck. I pick it up at my local medical spa so if you have a place near you that does things like botox or fillers chances are they may have this. I have used this before and find that it helps a lot with my hair growth and overall health. I especially notice a difference in my nail growth and strength. I also wanted to chat a bit around sugar bear hair – the little blue gummies that promise hair growth and you see influencers promoting here, there, and everywhere. Back in January I bought two bottles which I finished with little to no results. Not all of these products are as they seem, and sometimes their guaranteed results aren’t so guaranteed. I persaonlly had a way better experience with Hair Health. It’s a bit pricey at $50 a bottle but in my opinion super worth it.

This tip I picked up from Sydney of The Working Girl who mentioned drinking green smoothies everyday helped immensely with her hair health and growth. So I’ve started using her recipe and making a green smoothie about three times a week to have as breakfast or a snack to help boost my vitamin intake and get that hair growing!
