MINI HOME TOUR

I’ve been wanting to do a home tour for a long time now. I guess it’s just one of those things – I never feel like it’s ready or complete! But I always feel like that so if I don’t share it now, I never will! Back in the fall I picked up some new home essentials from All Modern which really helped to bring our home together and make it feel more home-y and ours. What I love so much about All Modern is how they have all the best pieces / styles at a fraction of the price. You can pick up 3-4 essentials and completely change your space with no huge blow to the wallet.

Being that we’re renting we couldn’t change too much but anything cosmetic that we could swap we did, including our kitchen island lighting. We swapped out our super boring lights for these gorgeous copper pendant lights. This makes such a huge difference in a space and won’t break the bank. We simply store our old lights in the closet to swap back when we leave.

Another new addition was our bookshelf. I love this design because it’s super unique yet very simple and classic at the same time. It’s really similar to one they have at CB2 but a fraction of the price. We store it with some of our favourite things, including artwork, candles, my fav wine, my camera, and of course our beloved stupidly priced knitted throw lol! It started to get wrecked a bit so now it is only for looking at!

We also swapped our old lucite chairs for these new very Scandinavian ones and I love how they make our space look. The white and the wood go so well with the rest of our decor and go great with our table.

This wall above our couch sat vacant for too long. I could never decide if I wanted art, a mirror, and finally decided on a gallery wall. I wanted to keep it simple so stuck to just 6 gold frames of black and white photos of me, Danny and the G. I picked up the frames from Target and had the photos printed at Walmart. All in all the project set me back only about $150.

These throw pillows are some of my favourite things – I love that they’re a bit different. But my pride and joy is definitely the gorgeous moroccan inspired little number that I picked up from one of my favourite local shops – The Mason Jar.

After first getting and training Gigi and her thinking our original area rug was her own personal toilet, we had to throw that one away and hadn’t replaced it until last fall when we picked up this hand woven option which really helps to open up the space and make it much more cozy.

Our coffee table was made by Danny, the bar cart is from Homesense, and the black marble block I picked up for $15 on Craigslist LOL talk about designing on a budget.

I think I could have died and gone to heaven when I unboxed this gorgeous mauve chair. The colour, the feel, the shape – it’s too good. It looks like it’s also on sale right now for $150 which is a steal of a deal. I love the touch of pink in the corner amongst a sea of neutrals.

Last but not least is of course our beloved wine fridge which you can see more of HERE. I love what it adds to the room and how we can home more decor on top of it. The print I’ve had forever from Made By Girl, the tall mirror is from Homesense, and the plant pots are CB2.

I hope you liked our little living room tour and can’t wait to show you more soon!

xx

And haha, I totally know what you mean about it never being done! There’s always something needed or changed!
