Party Like It’s 1925 //

When I first started to plan my big 25th only one idea came to mind – GATSBY! I find the 1920s so whimsical and so easy to get swept away in so I knew the theme would be perfect. I decided to stick with a black and gold colour scheme and basically went from there. I pulled a lot of inspiration from Pinterest – see my inspo board here. I normally get very (I mean very) stressed when planning such events but I stayed super organized and ended up having so much fun putting this together. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into our speakeasy! 😉
This cake topper from Confetti and Sparkle Party Shop was a must! Cindy was so sweet even sprayed it gold to match the theme!
This black and gold polka dot cake by Anna Elizabeth Cakes was absolutely STUNNING as the main focus of the dessert table. If you haven’t tried sweets from Anna Elizabeth yet, I highly recommend them – so delicious and such sweet packaging!

Black and white striped popcorn cartons ordered here and filled with Chicago popcorn mix – to die for!

I took photos of my friends and made them into 1920s wanted posters. They were SO funny and everyone loved theirs. People were wanted for everything from breaking prohibition laws, gambling, and brothel activity ha!! I also got to channel my inner 10 year old while aging and burning the paper ala a grade five school project 😉

I reused one of our homemade chalkboards from our wedding to fit our 1920s theme.

Vanilla chai cupcakes from Anna Elizabeth Cakes – these were not only delicious but looked amazing on our dessert table (complete with same polka dot fondant as the cake).

1920s/Great Gatsby themed cookies by The Whisk – such a hit and so yummy!

I had prints made with quotes from The Great Gatsby or writers from that time and displayed them around the room. This is one of my favorite lines from the movie. PS those lollipops are also vanilla vodka infused.. I know.. find the recipe here!

I created our very own Photo Booth by hanging a sequin tablecloth and curtains – everyone loved this! My sister brought her selfie stick along so needless to say we got some pretty interesting group shots!

A 1920s inspired bar complete with whiskey, champagne, vintage champagne coups and gorgeous blooms from The Flower Factory. I also taped some champagne coloured balloons cascading up the wall as if champagne bubbles! I found the idea on Pinterest
We had the Great Gatsby playing alongside the bar all night.

This Ferrero Rocher tower was so beautiful in the centre of the room and was such hit!

This gold heart print by Kardz Kouture fit in perfectly!
I picked up some supplies from Michaels and made some Great Gatsby inspired headbands for the girls!

Every big milestone deserves gorgeous balloons from Confetti and Sparkle Party Shop!
