KITCHEN TOUR

There’s something about going into a new season that makes me want to refresh the spaces in my house. Heading into Fall/the holidays I wanted to prep my kitchen for things like pumpkin scone baking, morning latté making, and pumpkin carving.

As you can tell from the photos above, I like my kitchen minimal with clean lines and only the essentials on display. Clutter gives me anxiety so I like the keep my countertops clear with just a few simple features.

To go with that, we recently decided to update our kitchen faucet to this Tallinn single pull-out one from Grohe that we picked up at The Home Depot Canada. The geometric design fits in perfectly with our minimal kitchen. I love how it adds a modern feel, it’s also made with a Super Steel Infinity finish so I don’t need to worry about water spots that drive me insane. Let’s be honest I wasn’t going to clean it anyways but I don’t need to because the finish is water/grime resistant so it’s going to look amazing long after it’s first installed. The design is gorgeous but it’s also super functional as the head detaches so I can blast dirty pans and clean around the sink. It also came with an optional soap dispenser but since we’re just renting, i’m not about to be drilling holes in our landlords quartz countertops ha!

As with the rest of our house, we definitely designed on a budget. The sleek Grohe faucet and our mixer are our two featured pieces and the rest I’ve picked up along the way from various home stores. I think the key to designing a space is to go slow, pick up pieces along the way and it will all come together in the end. It’s also fun to switch up things like faucets, candles, flowers, hand towels to change the look and feel of the space for not a huge investment.

I spend a lot of time at home being self employed so I love making it our own and super home-y so we can enjoy our space and time here. Next up, the bedroom!
