Now that our big secret is out, I’m so relieved and excited to be able to share this amazing time in our lives with all of you. When we first found out we were expecting a little baby G I was sort of holding off on buying things or doing really any sort of ‘prep’ for baby just because you never know what can happen and I didn’t want to get ahead of myself. Now that we’ve passed the first trimester I feel confident in starting to pick up items here and there for the nursery and to really just prep our house in general for baby. – that is so weird to even type out for me – AH!! The relief is real.

One of the items we really wanted to invest in as we prep for baby is an air purifier. We went with the Dyson Hot + Cool Air Purifier (which we picked up at Best Buy) for a couple reasons – the sleek look, the quiet airflow, the ability for it to both heat and cool, and the undeniable technology. Being asthmatic air quality is something I’m always concerned with. Anything from paint, to allergens, to smoke can cause me to wheeze up at night and not be able to sleep which is a legit concern when you’re pregnant (I also don’t want to be taking my inhaler all the time while pregnant so if I can get a step ahead of the problem that’s amazing). Preggo me needs her sleep or else I’m a total disaster the next day. I also want to make sure I’m getting lots of fresh oxygen to myself and baby. 

Once baby G arrives this will also of course help to purify the air in our home to make sure it’s nothing but fresh, clean air for his/her precious baby lungs. We can also have air reports sent to our iPhone’s which will alert us if there is a serious air quality issue such as a gas leak or fire. Speaking of fires, that’s another big reason we wanted to make the investment – BC last year unfortunately had record breaking forest fires which made the air quality almost unbearable and just as a precaution as I become more and more pregnant I want to make sure I’m not inhaling any poor/smoky air while I work and live from home. 

For now we have it in the living room and I think I’ll actually keep it there so it can purify the entire house and I’ll have more room in the nursery for all the pretty things you KNOW I’m about to buy. 

Slowly our space is going to come more and more together as we prep and I can’t wait to share with you as we go along! Next up – finding a rattan bassinet that doesn’t cost as much as a months rent..
