MY PREGGO ESSENTIALS
Time is absolutely flying with this pregnancy (I think that’s how it usually goes, and will go until I blink and baby boy is leaving for college). LOL getting a little ahead of myself. But seriously I’m already 5 months and it feels like yesterday I was announcing to you guys. I feel like I’ve been really lucky with this pregnancy because I really haven’t had much morning sickness or too many days where I can’t leave my bed – it’s been pretty chill. But over the past 5 months I’ve accumulated some absolute must haves from Nature’s Fare that have helped me get through the not so glamorous days. For all of my local babes I wanted to share what I’ve found to be my essentials that you can pick up at a one stop shop to make your preggo life that much easier.
I’ve been frequenting Nature’s Fare quite a bit over the past 5 months – I love that they have an abundance of organic and healthy treats to stock my cupboards and fridge with but also stock my favourite essential oils, and natural pregnancy products. More on that below..
FOOD
1. Annie’s Organic mac + cheese – I went through a looottt of boxes during my first trimester – comforting, easy to keep down and organic
2. Caulipower Pizza Crust – For the first few months I could only stomach carbs – this was always an easy alternative to have on hand to make at home and healthier than ordering pizza in
3. Gardein Crispy Chickn Tenders – so delish and zero guilt
4. Blender Bites – these were life savers during my first trimester when I could not stomach vegetables at all. I snuck nutrients in via smoothies all the time
DRINKS
1. Iced Tea – I have had a severe iced tea craving throughout this entire pregnancy
2. Blue Monkey Watermelon juice – probably one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted and such a good addition to at home mocktails for when I’m feeling like I want a little somethin’ somethin’
3. La Croix – helloooooo a preggo must!! Plus no guilt because no sugar or additives and they have s big selection of flavours
HEALTH / BEAUTY
1. New Chapter Organic Prenatal Vitamin – a couple things I love about this prenatal option, first that it’s organic, second that I can pick it up locally, and third that the dosage is broken down into 3 pills a day. During my first trimester I was taking one huge horse pill a day and they made me feel so sick. The only time I’ve thrown up during pregnancy was from taking that pill and it’s because the dosage was just too intense. These are taken with every meal so super easy on my stomach. They also add in organic ginger to further ease any nausea.
2. Aromaforce Peppermint Oil – I posted about this on my IG stories but this baby is a lifesaver for headaches. I know it’s allowed but I really wanted to try and steer clear from using Tylenol during my pregnancy so whenever a headache would arise a couple drops of this on the headache epicentre, my temples, and under my nose helped immensely. This stuff is super powerful so will last a long time!
3. Aromaforce Eucalyptus Oil – I actually bought this for Danny because he loves eucalyptus but lately we’ve been adding a few drops to our diffuser and falling asleep with it – super soothing and gives me all the calming spa vibes. You can also add a drop or two to your bath water or during summer to a cold compress to help relax.
4. Badger Organic Pregnant Belly Oil – I’ve been using this after every shower, not just on my belly but my whole body. My skin has been really dry this pregnancy and this oil really helps to keep my skin super moisturized, and has a nice subtle scent.
5. Badger Organic Pregnant Belly Butter – I use this every morning and night on my belly, hips, and the girls to hopefully prevent any stretch marks – also smells subtly like cocoa!
6. Genuine Health Clean Collagen – Whether it’s in my coffee or a smoothie, I try to incorporate collagen into my diet everyday as it’s supposed to aid in skin’s elasticity and help prevent stretch marks.
Thank you to Nature’s Fare for partnering on this post.
